The GASL-Prize of the YAEL Foundation

The GASL-Prize of the YAEL Foundation is awarded on the occasion of the annual meeting of the GASL. This € 3,000 prize is intended for young scientists and is selected by the GASL-Board and Programme Committee from the best published achievements of the past year. Proposals for potential award winners can be sent to the GASL-Secretary () until the 28th October 2025. In addition to the original paper, the application documents should include a CV and a letter of recommendation from the mentor.

The GASL-Young Investigator Award

On the initiative of the GASL e.V., the Young Investigator Award (YIA) has been presented annually at the Annual Conference since 2023 to honor outstanding work and congress contributions by young scientists. The Young Investigator Award is intended to highlight and promote the achievements of young scientists in the fields of hepatological studies. 
The prize is endowed with € 200.

Applicants must be doctoral students or have submitted an abstract which is within the framework of a doctoral thesis. The abstracts submitted for the YIA should follow the criteria for regular contributions. Application is made as part of the regular abstract submission for the Annual Conference.The winner is selected from all applicants having made clear they are applying during their registration for the congress.

Publication Prize (Publikations-Preis der Deutschen Leberstiftung)

The German Liver Foundation Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding work in the field of hepatology; the prize money amounts to € 10,000,- and is provided by Gilead Sciences GmbH, a partner of the German Liver Foundation. Michael Manns Doctoral Scholarship (Michael Manns-Promotions-Stipendium)

In memory of one of the founders and long-standing chairman of the German Liver Foundation, Prof. Dr. Michael P. Manns, the “Michael Manns Doctoral Scholarship” is being offered to support doctoral projects that aim to improve the care of patients with liver disease. The maximum funding available is €12,500, and the maximum funding period is twelve months. Exchange grant (Vernetzungs-Stipendium der Deutschen Leberstiftung)

The networking fellowship can be used to carry out time-limited clinical or basic research projects at other research institutions; a maximum of € 7,500,- is available per fellowship.
